Mr. Connolly's specific practice areas include catastrophic tort claims, property damage claims, products liability defense, nursing home care, construction and environmental defense, UIM/UM claims and excess risk exposure consultation.
Biography:
Mr. Connolly has over 30 years of trial experience. He has successfully defended numerous clients in high exposure lawsuits, including wrongful death cases, property damage claims, products liability claims, Director and Officer liability claims, and class actions. Recently, Mr. Connolly has obtained four defense verdicts on cases where plaintiffs asked the jury for $1.5 million, $13.5 million, $850,000 and $16.2 million, respectively.
Mr. Connolly was recognized by the Illinois Jury Verdict Reporter at their 50th Year Anniversary Celebration as having obtained the Best Defense Verdict of 2010.
Additionally, along with eighteen other firms, he resolved one of the largest class environmental claims ever brought in the State of Illinois, and has successfully defended national clients on personal injury claims arising out of environmental exposure. Mr. Connolly defends insurers through arbitration in defense of uninsured/underinsured motorist claims.
Mr. Connolly has also lectured on the trial of large exposure cases, has counseled excess carriers on risk exposure, and assisted in the supervision and direction of defense counsel.
Mr. Connolly is a member of the Society of Trial Lawyers and has consistently been named by Law & Politics magazine as an Illinois Super Lawyer. Jerry has also been featured in Chicago Magazine as a Top Lawyer and has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer.
For the past 20 years, Mr. Connolly has received an AV Peer Review rating for ethical standards and legal ability by Martindale-Hubbell, which is the highest rating awarded.
